China Unicom, Day 1: 1-under, but 12 back

Zhou Xun Shu found himself under par after the first day of action in China Unicom’s World Wind Tournament at Tian’an Golf Course in Beijing — but so did 22 other golfers. Zhou shot a 71 on Thursday, putting him at 1-under.

“It’s actually not very impressive,” Zhou said. “Someone is 13 under.”

Huh? Thirteen under? After one day? Yep. Lin Genji (æž—æ ¹åŸº) from Taiwan fired a ridiculous 59, putting him seven strokes ahead of the field. Other golfers of note: Liang Wenchong, Wu Kangchun and Zhang Lianwei (68), and Li Chao (70).
